When Disney intersects with my work life

One of the coolest parts of my new job is that I’m getting to write some Disney content to share with our readers. My boss knows how much of a geek I am, and so she tosses me related stories to write for the Simplemost blog. Shameless plug: if you haven’t check out the site, you should. What I love about it is that it’s filled with fun, informative stories.

Anyway, this week I’ve been blessed to have a few Disney stories to post on the blog. Instead of re-writing the content, I thought I’d just share it here.

Johnny Depp steals the show

My favorite story of the week is how Johnny Depp surprised Disneyland guests on Wednesday. He dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow and actually interacted with riders on Pirates of the Caribbean. Ok, first of all, why couldn’t that happened in Florida a couple of weeks ago when I was there! Secondly, I can’t even imagine what I would have said or done if I saw him.

I know I usually write about Walt Disney World here, but this was too good not to share here.

I told the story using a round up of rider videos and reactions. What better way to tell the story then trying to replicate being there, right?

Stay in a “galaxy far, far away?”

Earlier this morning, I put together a story about Disney considering a Star Wars immersive hotel connected with Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I’m not sure they wanted word to get out about it. But, then again, they didn’t seem too careful in hiding the research being done by a third party. What do you think about the idea? Would you stay there? You might change your mind after seeing the estimated price tag…

Still can’t “Let it Go” with Frozen

This week, I also wrote about Disney FINALLY making the official statement about the release date for “Frozen 2.” Mark your calendars, folks. It’s a go. And, yes Elsa, Anna and the whole gang are coming back!

So, it’s been a fun week on the job front for me this week. Disney+Work=Awesome! Love it when that happens!
